Laryvox Seal

The Laryvox Seal is required when tracheostomees with fully or partially retained larynx are to be weaned off their tracheostomy tubes.

With the aid of Laryvox Seal, the air supply through the tracheostoma is blocked under medical supervision, for a certain period. This requires the patient to breathe naturally through the nose/mouth, for this period of time.

Because natural breathing can be strenuous after a tracheostomy, the patient must become accustomed to normal breathing again, step-by-step, in a controlled manner.

The Laryvox Seal is used for sealing a tracheostomy tube/base plate and for step-by-step and controlled removal of the tracheostomy tube through to safe decannulation.

For the removal of the cannula from a patient with fully or partially retained larynx.
  • Used for sealing a tracheostomy tube/base plate and for step-by-step and controlled removal of the tracheostomy tube through to safe decannulation.
  • For removal of the cannula from a patient with fully or partially retained larynx.
  • Precise and controlled closure of the tracheostoma is possible using base plates and tracheal tubes with 22 mm combi-adapters (such as Duravent Kombi Tracheostomy Tube or Laryvox Tape base plate).
During application the patient is ventilated solely via the nasal and pharyngeal cavity. After a tracheotomy, the patient must be slowly re-accustomed to breathing normally via the physiological airway with a temporary tracheostoma closure.
